After changing the count direction on your Linear transducer, it's essential to set the "Zero" or "Home" position to the opposite end of the transducer. If you skip this step, the position value output might be negative.

How to Set Home Position:

Method 1 – Preset Input:

  1. Move the magnet to where you want the counting to start.
  2. Using the device pinout, connect the "Preset 1" pin to the rated voltage level mentioned in the pinout document.

*If your linear has custom programming, check the OEM documentation for the correct "Preset 1" value. It is possible for the value saved as the “Preset 1” value, to be different from the default value of “0”.

Method 2 – USB Programmer + TRWinProg Software:

  1. Connect your linear transducer to a compatible TR Electronic "pc adapter" using the Serial Programming +/- conductors listed on the device pinout. Note: This method is not possible if your device lacks Serial Programming conductors.
  2. Use the TRWinProg software to go online with the device.
  3. In the software's Position tab, set the position value to your desired home value. The internal unit of measurement is in "steps" (Total Measuring Range ÷ Resolution). Refer to the device manual for more details.
  4. Save the new position value by clicking the Red Downward Arrow in TRWinProg.

*It's your responsibility to ensure that making these adjustments won't cause equipment damage or injury. If you're unsure, consult the OEM documentation or contact our support team for assistance.
