Following is the list of Programming instructions for each encoder family:
Point-To-Point Interfaces [SSI, Analog, ISI, Parallel, Incremental].
*Ensure that your encoder is programmable by checking its pinout for programming lines.
Rotary Encoders:
Part numbers starting with C__22, 36, 58, 582, 65, 80, 84, 115 or I_58, 582 are programmed using the PC-based TRWinProg software
To connect to the software you will need:
- PC Adapter V5
- Data Sheet
- Manual
Part numbers starting with 110, 111, 113, 114, 121, 122, 170, 171, 172, 173, or174 are programmed using the PC-based EProgW32 software
To connect to the software you will need:

Linear and Laser encoders:
Linear and Laser Point-to-Point Encoders are programmed using the PC-based TRWinProg software
To connect to the software you will need:
- PC Adapter V5
- Data Sheet

Ethernet-Based Interfaces:
Profinet, PROFIsafe, Ethernet/IP, CIP Safety, EtherCat, EtherCat/FSOE, Powerlink, Open Safety (Powerlink), IO Link - These devices are programmed in the PLC/Controller.

Fieldbus Interface:
Profibus DP, PROFIsafe over Profibus, CAN DeviceNet, CANopen, Interbus-S - These devices are programmed through the master device.
