Start the application
•If the tool is integrated into TIA, you can start the software from inside your TIA project. In the project device view (1), right click on the PLC image (2), select “Start Device Tool” (3).
Navigate to “Maintenance / Diagnostic”tab
•With the application open, select the “Maintenance” tab (1).
•Then, select the “Diagnostic” category (2) and click the “read” button (3).
•Then, select the “Diagnostic” category (2) and click the “read” button (3).
Save the diagnostic data on your PC
•Wait for the data download to complete (1), then click the “save” button (2).
Choose a file name and location to save the data
•In the next dialog window, choose the file location (1) where you want to store the files and give them a file name (2).
•Click the “Save” button to store the files (3).

Wait for download to complete
•Wait while the encoder data is downloading.
•When the download has completed successfully (“Done.”), you may close the application.

Where are my files?
•The files are now saved to the location you selected in the previous step. There should be a total of four files for each encoder download.
